I hope you can forgive my silence on this site over the past few months. It’s been a busy time! My brother and I started a new mobile game company, Cool Yeti Games, and it’s taken all of my energy just to keep that page updated regularly. We’ve been traveling all around California to show off the game we’re working on, How I Roll. Our travel has taken us to a bunch of Playcrafting events, as well as Minefaire in San Mateo and Los Angeles. It’s been exhausting to say the least, but we’ve learned a ton, and it’s been amazing to see people enjoying the game.
I hope my readers have received some benefit from all the OpenGL tutorials I posted last year. I’ve enjoyed writing them, and I hope you’ll email me to let me know if you have suggestions for future tutorials. I actually have another Bézier curve tutorial ready that I haven’t had a chance to clean up and post yet. Perhaps I’ll get to that one of these days…
I’m still very enthusiastic about OpenGL. I was just getting to the fun part, and there are many other topics I’ve been eager to cover (particularly shaders). Fingers crossed that I’ll get a chance to write more soon.
But for the time being, Isaac and I have been pretty absorbed with work on How I Roll and our game engine that powers it. We’ve discovered a (relatively) new programming language called Dart, which has really revolutionized the way we’re writing code. We’re still learning more about it, but we’re already finding all kinds of very cool ways to leverage its power. Super exciting! I’m sure it won’t be long before I’m posting some Dart-related technical articles on here. Stay tuned!
